Every time I hear the heart monitor spike or dip in its rhythmic beeping, my anxiety increases. Which has happened a whole damn lot since we got here. We have been in the medical wing of the packhouse for well over six hours, and they had just finished getting her settled in a medical bed and tended to her wounds.
