Heavy breathing filtered into the room. His heart rate was fast, but not enough to match his breathing. Hope, desperation, was the only thing keeping his two organ systems from crashing. Blood rushed to his ears, feeling like Niagara Falls pouring in an endless rage. Head tilted forward, staring into his lap, he felt his fate before a word left the animal’s maw. Tight ropes gripping him to the cold chair were enough indication that his time was limited, all because of his treacherous wife.

He gave her everything, the pearls around her neck, the beauty of their home, the clothes she wore and all he asked was loyalty and heirs to his empire. It wasn’t just her looks he fell for; it was everything he was not. Evangeline tried to instill peace within him, get him away from the darkness that he surrounded himself with, but his greed was too great. There was always one more deal, one more undercover rush to fill through his black veins. He wanted to conquer the western world because he was close. All of Europe was at his fingertips, next was America, and then soon half the world would lie in his hands. It all went to s**t once he made that deal, the deal that would seal his fate this day.
