Goddess, this was bad. I had heard that a shewolf’s heat was rough, but never had I witnessed it first hand. Not like this anyhow. Not when the shewolf is fighting her natural urges. I remember being taught in high school health class that fighting it would cause some awful symptoms, but I never knew it could be so terrible.

Kelly was basically limp in my arms, though she looked like she might throw up or pass out or both. She had a layer of sweat on her skin, which, considering we were starting to see ice around us, should be a clear indication of how hot she was getting. Her eyes looked cloudy and unfocused too. She had a steady moan coming from her that would only stop when she would periodically grip her abdomen and hiss in pain. I wish I could take that pain away from her. There was a slew of loaded questions looming between the four of us, no one daring to ask any of them. Instead, we continued forward, not even glancing in the other’s direction.
