The Blood Moon Twins – Chapter 118

CAULDER

Vampires swarmed out of the bunker like bees fleeing from a hive to attack a potential threat. Blade and I held back a moment, waiting for the right moment to rush in. Meanwhile, Mason and some of the other werewolves dashed forward to get the vampires’ attention. The werewolves turned to draw the vampires away from the bunker, but I knew they weren’t going very far, because we didn’t want the vampires to just retreat into the base.

When I didn’t see any other vampires running out of the little shed, I knew it was time to move in. I signaled Blade, and he didn’t hesitate to move. He was significantly faster than me while I was in my human form, but he slowed down to make sure I stayed near him.

f eyes immediately kicked in, and a memory flashed into my head. The concrete walls reminded me of the walls at the headquarters of the Council of Magic. I stumbled forward as the memory made my chest start collapsing. I couldn’t breathe, and my hands shook as I thought about the horrors that had faced me there.
