Something was stirring inside of Remy. I could feel how angry she was, and I didn’t understand what was going on. When I smiled at her, she didn’t smile back. When I looked at her, her gaze averted.
Now, she looked down at her hands. They were open and face up in her lap. She still hadn’t answered my question, but I could feel her thoughts churning. I just didn’t know what she was thinking. What had the past month looked like for her? What struggles had she been facing while I wasn’t there to be next to her?
