I awoke in the middle of the night, the feeling of something shaking the bed startling me awake as I instinctively reached under my pillow, searching for the dagger I always keep there just in case. My eyes tried to adjust to the dark room as confusion and the feeling of unease filled me. Suddenly everything came crashing back, how Sadie finally accepted me, how we completed our bond and had the most incredible night together.

That’s when panic set in, Sadie, where was she?! My eyes darted to the space beside me and I felt instant relief as I spotted her sleeping form. I inhaled her spring scent as I went to pull her into my side, only something didn’t seem right..I carefully watched her as she began to toss and turn when her brows furrowed deeply like she was experiencing some type of nightmare.
