I Shouldn’t Love Him(Book 2) – Chapter 46

It was a hot summer day when I met him at the construction site next to my parents’ house. Beneath the sweat and dirt, Manning Sutter was as handsome as the sun was bright. He was older, darker, more experienced. I wore a t-shirt with a smiley face and I had never been kissed. Yet we saw something in each other that would bond us in a way that couldn’t be broken, no matter how we tried.

I loved Manning before I knew the meaning of the word. I was too young, he said. I had to wait. Despite all the carefully chosen words to hide what we knew to be the truth, his struggle to keep me innocent, and the endlessly dark nights, I waited. But I learned that no matter how much you achieve in life, it means nothing if you suffer the heartache that comes with falling in love with someone you can never to have. Because even though I saw Manning first, my older sister saw him next.

This is the second book in I Shouldn’t Love Him… A Forbidden Love Series.
